    Freelancing so far…

I started freelancing a few months ago. I’d started my job but found I had a lot of free time in the afternoons when I would come home from work. I found ways around this at first, volunteering, online courses and Japanese lessons but I thought why not try and make money during this free time rather than spend it. I started small doing a few personal projects to see if I would have the time to take on paid freelance work and then set out to find some clients. Over the past fe

She only went and got a job… finally.

The only reason I haven’t posted since August is because low and behold a year after graduation I finally have a job (well part time that is)! It may not be full time but from the application form to the interview and induction process it has definitely felt as though it’s more than just a normal part-time job. It means I still get time to work on freelance projects on the side, create my collages, still volunteer and have my hands in many other pies! So my full job title is

    Online Courses

In my months of unemployment, I’ve managed to find a routine through volunteering, making plans with friends and also by working towards completing online courses. Before I graduated I’d had enough of learning. Having gone straight to uni from school I felt that my brain was too full of information to take in any more education, but since last autumn I’ve not wanted to stop learning. Being a lover of reading I tried finding books on subjects I was interested in, but living in

What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger (or so they say)

Firstly, a quick side note. Part of this post was written in the middle of quite a depressing time for me in my job hunting process, all I seemed to get was a bunch of rejection but  another part of this post I wrote when I’d come out the other side having been offered a job that may not have been what I ultimately dreamed I’d be doing but I’m still excited to start and be challenged by. So in a way being able to read back and see where I was and where I now am, has actually

    Getting crafty.

I’ve always been creative. If you ask my parents they’ll recount stories upon stories from my childhood when I would rather draw than play with dolls or when I once picked up a biro and 30 seconds later I’d decided to use it on my entire body to give myself tattoos! I can remember times when all I had as an outlet was being creative. Moving to a new town as a 10-year-old, pottery and craft classes became a way to meet other kids and when I went through friendship troubles as

Podcasts I love or want to start loving.

Podcasts a big right now. If you didn’t know that then where have you been? There are around 75 million people that tune into podcasts every month and this numbers set to grow. A lot. So you might want to check out a podcast or two at some point. Or scroll down, I’ve made a list of some. So I started listening to podcasts last year. I was a bit late to the trend it seemed, because either everyone was making one, or they were subscribed to one or they happened to be talking ab
